Since
the very inception of Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), it
has been hoodwinking the ministries concerned on whether it’s a cooperative or
a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) (“Suicide Mystery and Corruption at IFFCO”,
July 18). Eduardo Faleiro in 1993 decided to convert IFFCO into a PSU. But
vested interests ensured that the proposition did not get implemented.
